Harley Unveils New Model in New York City at the International Motorcycle Show

Harley-Davidson unveiled a new model Sportster at 11:00am this morning at the New York City International Motorcycle Show! The newest Sportster is a 1200 and will be called the 48 in recognition of the iconic peanut tank first introduced in 1948. The styling takes the Nightster look to the next level of raw blacked out stripped down custom. The peanut tank is displayed prominently. A very thin un-Harley like solo seat about two inches thick sits between the tank and the fender (26″ seat height). The rear fender is very clean. On the front end there is a fat front wheel which is way cool, sort of like a Fat Bob treatment for the Sporty. It has forward controls. The rear view mirrors have been repositioned on this model UNDER the handlebars so that you can see more than just your shoulders! MSRP for vivid black is $10,499.
